UNDERSTANDING OPPORTUNITY (PART 3)

For the past two weeks we have been delving deep into the realms of understanding opportunity from finding out that;

The true image of our faithfulness is not in how we treat what is ours but what belongs to others in PART 1 to knowing that Many of the  opportunities are in the places, things, people you wouldn’t naturally want to associate with or identify with, In PART 2

A continuation,

Doors of Opportunity

Today on the final episode of understanding opportunity we learn that the doors of opportunity are open to settled people. It’s still our humble guest the Prophet Kayondo Ezekiel shining the light on this.

When I came to the city of Troas to preach the Good News of Christ, the Lord opened a door of opportunity for me.
2 Corinthians 2:12

Whatever is in you seeks opportunity, whether it is good or evil!

This is why you must understand opportunity!

Opportunity has doors because it is a house, it is a building!

It is therefore important to know what kind of opportunity building you are building and what stage you are on.

In my time in ministry I have been tempted to give up on the things that build opportunity for me and others, this came by the many juicy offers that came on account of the gift upon my life, some of which were far detached from the purpose and call of God on my life. But in such days and moments, the Holy Spirit would counsel me through one way or another not to give up and to stay focused on the Goal and prize!

Some times it is indeed a tough road with many adversaries, challenges, temptations, tests, but God always stands with you through it all.

The opportunity building is built by wisdom but also by diligence, consistence, perseverance, endurance, patience, hope and faith.

[It is] like a mustard seed which, when it is sown on the ground, is smaller than all the seeds on earth; but when it is sown, it grows up and becomes greater than all herbs, and shoots out large branches, so that the birds of the air may nest under its shade.”
Mark 4:31-32

Opportunity buildings begin with the smallest of efforts but when you choose to continue steadfastly, a Big house springs forth which can accommodate many more rooms of opportunity!

One of the other things that hinder people from seizing opportunity is UNSETTLEMENT.

It is very difficult to build when you are tossed here and there… the best engineers are those who can settle on one building till its finished!

Many mustard seeds of opportunity have not grown into trees because of the state of their sowers, when a sower is unsettled they are undecided, they are but children, they cannot build strong houses of opportunity because they themselves cannot bear the unsettling winds and storms of life! So they instead scatter seed by the way side, on rocks, in thorns rather than in good ground!

Drink waters out of your own cistern [of a pure marriage relationship], and fresh running waters out of your own well. Should your offspring be dispersed abroad as water-brooks in the streets?
Proverbs 5:15-16

Paul’s ministry (in our theme Scripture above) did not start at Troas where a great door of opportunity opened to him, Paul had taken time to build a foundation (1 Corinthians 3:10)

He had planted (1 Corinthians 3:6)

So the door of opportunity at Troas was an answer of God in response to the house of opportunity  Paul had built already in other places!

You can build your self up in God as a house of opportunity.

You can build a house of opportunity for yourself and for others!

But you see, you have got to settle!

For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not SIT DOWN FIRST and count the cost, whether he has [enough] to finish [it] Luke 14:28

An unsettled person cannot build and finish. We must learn to SIT DOWN FIRST.  It is not a waste of time, it is a principle that builds a house of opportunity.

I have seen a  temptation to gifted men and women which hindered them from building  opportunity, this temptation is in pursuing after everything that comes  their way and calls for them simply because they are gifted in it! Such people end up having many things started but none finished! They end up with houses of opportunity without doors! Incomplete houses!

The day David settled at Hebron is the day He was crowned King over the House of Judah, that is where He was anointed the second time! (2 Samuel 2:3-4)

David was a gifted man but he needed to settle to be crowned and to build Judah and later Israel.

There are doors of opportunity that only open to settled people.

This is why you have got to sit down first under that ministry God has planted you in and build it, settle in that marriage and build it, settle in that relationship and build it, settle in that small business and build it, settle in Christ and be built, settle in that responsibility and build it until you and it become a house of opportunity!

Great houses of opportunity are built by settled people! How long shall you limp between opinions and choices?

Doors of opportunity are answers to people who first sat down to build houses of opportunity!

Zebulun settles down on the seashore; he’s a safe harbor for ships, right alongside Sidon.
Genesis 49:13

All good things have an ending except the gift of salvation an which is forever. Thanks to the man of God for allowing to be used of God. You can find him on his Facebook handle @kayondo Ezekiel for more spirit led insights.

As we go about this week let us be diligent in service understand that some opportunities will come through people, places we may not necessarily like and lastly Mastery is important. Let’s grab those opportunities with wisdom.

Cheers to raising standards….

See you next week Monday on more kingdom matters.

Till then,

Be kind, Be humble, Spread love.
