The Conerstone,

In relation to architecture, a cornerstone is traditionally the first stone set for a masonry foundation with all stones laid in reference. The cornerstone orients the building In a specific direction. It is the core of the building.

So on this road I chose, Jesus ensures the stability of the whole system(building) of my salvation and remains the only plan.

See, I lay a stone in zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation. The one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic

Isaiah 28:16

The Bible refers to us as a building, the Church. And Jesus as the cornerstone meaning everything else springs from him as the core of the church. Everything else meaning, career, relationship, business, praying , fasting, fellowshiping studying the word and holy communion etc, all these add on to the free gift of salvation God gave us through his son Jesus Christ.

It is as simple as confessing with your mouth that he is lord and savior.

It is easy to focus on the circumstances around you and forget that the one who started a good thing in you will bring it to accomplishment.

It so easy to resort to use of substance and easy fixes to make a problem go away.

The theme scriptures says the one who relies on Jesus as the cornerstone will never be stricken with panic.

I can not explain the peace that comes with understanding that God has got you covered no matter how things look like. Just look at;

Daniel in the lions den, Shadrach Meshach and Abednego in the fire, the sea that was split.

For me, it was my life that was saved from an accident, and so many miracles he keeps doing. Don’t take the life you still have for granted. Who watches over you when you sleep, countless battles he fights that we never even know about. I can’t explain how he does it. I just know he can and is willing.

So as we go about our business this week, let’s remember to keep our eyes and heart on the Father. Everything else will make sense when the cornerstone is firmly placed because without it, your structure has no direction.
