#02 Faith, Will and Emotion

God Monday my people.

Last week I shared something on the Stages of spiritual growth which I felt was essential in order to progress in this walk of life.(In Tim Mjete’s voice.)

Today am relaying another lesson from my father about how to approach THE FATHER.

The entire Gospel is based on Faith. A faith that comes by hearing. Last week we saw that there are some things you will never experience in God unless you do what he asks you to do.

Obedience is key in this walk. In Deuteronomy 28 it says;

If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his command he will set you high above all nations.

Then the Lord went ahead to mention blessings that come with obedience, there is curses in there for disobedience. One that always cracks me up is at the end of the chapter 28:68

Then the Lord will send you back to Egypt in ships, to a destination I promised you would never see again. There you will offer to sell yourselves to your enemies as slaves, but no one will buy you.”

Imagine being at the point of selling yourself and no one buys you. 🤣🤣🤣 Man the Israelites must have done a number on God because wow. But we bless the Lord for his grace and Mercy and the gift of Jesus Christ who redeemed us. We can now also have a total removal of the sin nature, perfection is possible. I digress.

So back to Faith.

Faith is supposed to achieve in us what God wants in us and not the other way around. Yes, we can pray and ask God and yield results for example the parable of the woman and the judge. The woman overdid it until the judge gave her what she wanted. So you can relent to the father and receive, but Jesus asks at the end of the Parable if he will find faith when he returns?

Isn’t it better to want what he wants ?

Praying and receiving is not relationship. There is more in/to relationship beyond things.

The extent to which you know the heart of God through relationship (which is built by studying the word, praying and fasting, praise and worship, fellowship and holy communion) is the extent to which purpose(His will) becomes clearer.

And There is a sacrifice that comes with getting to a place of hearing.

After Faith is His Will. I wondered how we can have faith for a will we don’t know. Shouldn’t the will come first? My Father said;

He gave us a free will though… However…We would still not know His will without hearing from Him… Concerning the purpose and destiny of our livesAgain .. the words of Jesus in the gospel of John are useful.

So I visited the gospel of John.

Jesus says; “I am in my Father and you are in me and I am in you” he also says he can not do anything only what he sees his father doing and the father loves his son and shows him all he does(His Will) so clearly Jesus knows the will of God. And he said Faith comes by hearing, so we can’t have faith for his will unless we hear it.

For his will, will you be willing to loose it all?

Ask yourself what is it you want more with/in God?

The will follows faith and emotions will follow automatically.

I find this concept really hard on somedays but along the way I am learning to do what needs to be done no matter how I feel.

Jesus was really exemplary in Luke 22:39-45 when he asks God to take the cup of the his coming death away but he still said “yet not my will, but yours be done.” The Bible says he was so grieved to the point of sweating blood. He still did what needed to be done. And look at us today heirs of the kingdom of God because of the great sacrifice.

I find myself tested in this greatly with situations surrounding the Father of my child and his negligence, however, indeed, God will not allow more than you can take.

it’s been a journey of growing in repentance and learning how to forgive every day.

The same strength the Angel who came from heaven when Jesus sweated blood because of his forthcoming predicament is the same I have been accorded to give me strength to overcome offence. It’s not easy to be at peace with someone that hurt you but I can assure you it’s doable. I can confess am living a good life regardless of my status. I have the joy of the Lord and that is what matters.

I find that most of us like to lead with Emotions, but that is a trap. Emotions are temporary and will only lead you to make decisions you might end up regretting. How many can testify to realising that your initial thought on something was changed after deep thought? It’s like when someone is rude to you on a Monday morning, you could easily judge their upbringing but supposing they just had a really bad weekend and it’s in your power to be the grace they need to get through the week? You could be holding onto pain because you expect human beings to do better. Isaiah 2:22 says;

Stop trusting in mere humans,

Who have but breath in their nostrils.

Why hold them in esteem?

Isaiah 2:22

Eyes and heart on the Father.

Let’s pray.

I thank and bless the lord for today and his word that he has shared may it do it’s work in us. For everyone that comes by do something good.

You are blessed and highly favoured.

Do like, share and comment about what your take home is today.

It’s been an honour sharing today

See you again on Friday. Am thinking of continuing the series on mental health that I had started before I got hit with writes block in May and then jumped into the winterAbc.🤔🤔

Till then,💞

Be kind, be humble, spread love.
