Where My Mind Goes: The Beginning - 52

Today is my birthday, and it also marks the beginning of Where My Mind Goes, a multi-disciplinary creative project that brings together literature, dance, and music.

It also marks a year-long countdown to my second book, which I’ll be launching on my birthday next year.

As part of being human, it’s so easy to procrastinate our dreams away, so I found a little hack: I publicly declare the things I want to bring to life. Somehow, saying them out loud holds me accountable.

Accountability is a deeply important value for me, and that’s why I’m bringing you on a journey I’ve been quietly cooking since November 2024.

So today, we begin with my why.

“Where my mind goes” is a phrase that has been ringing in my head since the year began.
I deeply believe that we are the thoughts we think. Who you think you are eventually becomes who you become.

Of course, many things shape us: our environments, our upbringing, and the people who influence us. All those layers form the thoughts we carry, and sometimes it’s hard to change them. But I decided that this message is worth sharing.

Our thoughts matter because they shape our entire lives.

Then I asked myself: What would this message look like expressed differently?
What if it wasn’t just a book?
What if it could be music?

What if it could be a dance production?
And just like that, the project became interdisciplinary, because I believe anything is possible, and I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

My core message is intentional living, choosing a life that feels full and aligned. We can only tap into our fullest potential when our thoughts support us, not limit us. It’s hard to live intentionally if your mind is whispering negativity, pushing you to settle for whatever life throws at you instead of learning to direct your own life.

So yes, today, 19th November, is the beginning of that journey.

Sidenote: You might have noticed this is a brand-new website. A place my nerd friend and I have worked on for months. He is God's gift to me.

Before you leave, scroll to the bottom and subscribe so you can receive weekly updates on Where My Mind Goes—my focus for the next 52 weeks

While I lead a team of amazing creatives in building the project, and write the book that will inspire the music EP and dance production, I’ll be bringing you into where my mind goes every week until this time next year.

Whenever you read this, I hope you feel inspired to believe that you have the power to change your life. The motivational speakers did not lie; you really can start exactly where you are. And I am going to practically show you how.

A little delusion goes a long way.

Yours truly,
Tikia With Grace
